2) Western Digital My Passport Ultra USB 3.0 1TB 

If you are looking for more long term and reliable external hard drive and would not mind paying for a really good one for RM200+. Without doubt Western Digital Passport is the choice. We recommended to go straight for the 1 TB because the 500 GB is only RM30 less than the 1TB (Most of the shops). Depending on the colour the price may vary among them so if you do not fancy any colour black is always the cheapest. What software is included in this hard drive is the WD Drive Utilities,  it provide utilities services such as check your status, test functionality and reformatting. It comes with WD security where you can lock it with your password and WD SmartWare pro, which is the best part of this hard drive that handles auto-backup. You can always get it in Lazada for the range of RM200- RM250.

3) Transcend StoreJet 25M3 Black USB 3.0 1TB Portable Hard Drive

This thing is a monster, it's durability is so high that it meets the U.S military drop test standards not to mention is a grade shock resistance. I would only recommend this if you want to keep very important data or files in this hard drive. Because the price of this hard drive could vary from RM250 - RM300, Lazada sells it too. The added value service is Transcend Elite Data Management Software that comes with easy backup, compress files and AES Encryption. If you are a pet owner and have pets in your house, this hard drive would be secured from damaging even dropping from your table.  The only downside of this Hard Disk is the price but it meets most of the expectation that a hard disk user would like to have.

4) Seagate Expansion Portable 1TB Hard Drive Black

Seagate is one of the best player in the hard disk industry too, it is famous for staying cool and quiet. As usual it comes with 3.0 USB and compatible with 2.0. However it is selling for RM230- RM260 at Lazada which is almost the same range as other hard disk mentioned above. Therefore would not recommend it even for it's reliable technology. It is also not a famous brand here in Malaysia due to it's price. As for 1TB hard drives they are not the best player, but if you are planning to get 2 TB and more, Seagate is well recommended.

5) Toshiba Canvio Simple 1TB USB 3.0 Black

It comes with 3 year limited warranty and support 3.0 and 2.0 USB. However the selling price for this hard disk can range from RM200- RM260 which is pretty costly too.
