What To Expect During Lazada's Online Revolution 2015

Hey guys, Lazada's biggest sale of the year is back again! For those who shopped during last year's 11.11 and 12.12, this is something similar but in a much bigger scale. ShopCoupons was invited to their online revolution Luncheon at Hubba Hubba Sentral. Here are some pictures!

Here is what he covered during the presentation which includes what to expect for Online Revolution Sale 2015.

He started by presenting about how Lazada is the leading online shopping destination in Southeast Asia as compared to their competitors, especially the rising 11street that came into the market this year and has one of the strongest presence in this region.

One interesting fact is that the majority of their sale is coming from outside of Kuala Lumpur as compared to two years back where the biggest market was in Kuala Lumpur.

Lazada was once known as the electronics online store. Youngsters who are tech savvy would be interested in purchasing their product online. Things have started to change now as there are more people shopping for fashion, home & living, automotive & gadgets and sports & outdoors products. It is no doubt that it is Lazada's goal to become the Amazon of Southeast Asia, and they seem to be in line with their direction.

The trend in Malaysia has started to change, people used to go crazy on group-buy sites like Groupon and so on because they penetrated the market earlier. Now the next big thing is buying everything online instead of just deals and offers from small retailers.

Not to mention that Malaysia'a penetration rate for mobile is one of the highest in Asia, making Lazada focus a lot of their marketing in driving traffic to their mobile application making online shopping seamlessly easy.

As I have mentioned above, there is a shift of demographic from the younger crowd to the older family crowd. Young adults tend to realize the benefit of shopping online and start buying their home products as they are busy working adults who do not have the time to shop.

Here are some of the spikes in products throughout the year. What they emphasize on is that they are quickly reacting to the trend based on their data and they can do it quick since it is online. This gives them an added advantage compared to offline retailers as they can not put up the sale in time.

This was the trend of their sale from end of 2014 to 2015 and that "something big is coming” is the online revolution that I would be sharing about after this.

How would it be different from last year is that the online revolution would go on for the whole month from pre 11.11 to 12.12. The added extra would be games and fun activities to add more fun and participation among users.

An insane sale is coming up with up to 30,000 deals from 200 brands, 36 flash sales, more than 5,000 deals abroad and weekly activities between the mega launch and grand finale.
