5 Restaurants in the Klang Valley to Visit this Festive Season
Shhh… Listen closely… What do you hear?
Ding-ling-ring~ Ding-ling-ring~
Yep, jingle bells! And this means that Christmas is just right around the corner!
How time flies, I for one felt that 2014 was just like yesterday and now here we are nearing the end of 2015, awaiting another new year coming – 2016. Now, that aside, the focus is not on the New Year, but rather on Christmas!
Christmas is a national holiday for most and it is probably safe to assume that most people tend to dine out rather than eat in considering the hassle of cooking, inviting guests, then cleaning up. Although the fun part is that a lot of people gather at your home and you could feel that exciting festive feeling – and some would bring presents too to a Christmas party – but still, that hassle may leave you half or almost fully drained by the end of the day.
Speaking of eating out though, know of any fancy places worth going on a ‘food hunt’? If you don’t, I do! Although the ones I’m about to recommend don’t all have Christmas menus, but their ala carte are pretty satisfying too. Interested? Read on for more details below:

1. The Good Batch
The Good Batch serves pretty good food in an amazingly generous portion. They are mainly serving western cuisine, though a one or two dishes are fusions of western and Japanese cuisines. Dinner menu is only available after 6pm though. Coffees served here are simply wonderful as well, the aroma and taste match like the perfect puzzle in a cup – or glass, depending on your drink. Other than coffee, they do serve many other drinks waiting for you to explore. It has a long table that is suitable for gatherings between friends or family; putting it simply, it is a nice spot for a hangout.
Some photos of their yummies:
From the bottom left, it is the Norwegian dish and on top, it is known as the Hangover Mess, both dishes paired with The Good Iced Tea.
The Portobello Road, poached egg cradled by breaded Portobello mushrooms with wilted spinach and butter bun.
Yummy fries – both straight and curly – in jumbo size! The perfect snack for a big group, not so much for two with tiny stomachs, introducing Potato Duo.
Cappuccino by the barista, finished with a Rosetta.

2. Hungry Bunch
Hungry Bunch is a newly opened restaurant not too long ago, and it’s located inside Sunway Pyramid – which make parking easier in my opinion. They serve mainly western, and also local cuisines too. The Hungry Bunch serves all day breakfasts and mains, and even has some nice desserts for your sweet finish. It has a spacious layout that would be easy to maneuver around and suitable for large group gatherings too. Heading to Sunway Pyramid on Christmas? Why not try out their menu at this new popular spot.

Craving for some decent Italian cuisine? You might as well try this restaurant – Café Lafayette. They serve lunch and dinner throughout the day, and they also serve specialty coffee too. Try out their coffee, not only that their coffee tastes good, it has some pretty cute art to go with it too. Desserts are also available here with a range of cakes, waffles, muffins and so on.

If you are living around the Overseas Union Garden (OUG), Happy Garden, Kuchai Lama, or Sri Petaling, give this bakery and restaurant a chance with just a short distanced drive here. Le Pont Boulangerie is a French bakery and restaurant that just opened a couple of months back, and the quality of food is guaranteed to be satisfying. Oh, their coffees are just as good. They have a wide range of bread goods and cakes, if you are just there for breads or cakes, their swift takeaway service will leave you in smiles. Meaty stuff alert! If you’re a vegetarian, TURN BACK NOW. Otherwise, read on to know more about the sinful indulgence of meat. Naughty Babe Dirty Duck specializes in meat – pork to be exact, but there are other categories of meat available on the menu as well. Other than meaty dishes, some light stuff like pastas and salads are also on the menu. Beer is probably undeniably good to go with some smoking hot meat, but other drinks are also available as well so that kids would have a chance to drink too. Naughty Babe Dirty Duck serves lunch and dinner throughout the day, sadly no heavy breakfasts. Planning a meaty Christmas? Check out their Christmas package below!
