Eyebrows on Fleek: 4 Brow Trends to Try

All my brow gals raise your hands in the air!

Whether you’re a brow-nosier or just a brow-ginner, brows play a pivotal role in shaping our faces. A slight flick of a brow pencil can switch up your look from friendly and welcoming to downright menacing. While some prefer going au naturel and letting them brows grow, others observe a stringent brow routine with threading, waxing, tattoo-ed brows and even embroidery!

Today, we explore 4 brow trends sweeping across the globe, varying from a subtle, demure effect to daring and edgy. Whatever the style, we believe that there’s no harm experimenting with a variety of brow shapes and trends to find your very own perfect arch.

1. Straight Korean Brows

Ippudo! From the likes of K-pop sensation Taeyeon to Hallyu star Park Shin Hye, the doe-eyed straight brows trend is making huge waves in the Asian beauty scene. Gentle, straight brows soften up the face and create a youthful, innocent effect.

To achieve: Use a razor and hold it parallel to your brows. Try to eliminate any arches by cleaning hairs above the brow. Next, fill in brows with a slanted-tip brow pencil or an angled brush with a dab of brow powder. Brush over with a spoolie and voila!

2. Arch Enemy

Can’t get enough of the arch? Take inspiration from celebrities such as Megan Fox and Rihanna to achieve that perfect, sexy arched brow. Flirty and alluring, arched brows create depth to your face, giving the impression of higher cheekbones and a sharper chin.

To achieve: Use a make-up brush or eyeliner pencil to determine the starting point, arch and ending point of your eyebrows. The starting point should line-up directly with the inner corners of your eyes while the arch is where your nose and pupil intersect. Once you have the core length of your brow, fill in with brow powder.

3. Do you like em’ thick?

Want to make a statement? Thick brows are bold, daring and fun – as perfected by the thick brow guru herself, Cara Delevigne. Spirited songstress Ariana Grande recently sparked her own thick, sultry brow trend which got the attention of many young girls across the world.

To achieve: Don’t over-tweeze or wax your brows. Leave them as full as possible, with minimal brow pencil fill-ins. Clean up stray hairs above and below the brows.

4. Sexy Slits

Popular back in the 80’s and 90’s, eyebrow slits are back in style, made edgy by rappers Bowwow, Soulja Boy and K-pop idol Kris from EXO. Girls are also getting in on the action by deliberately shaving two slits in their eyebrows for that ‘I don’t give an F’ look. Slap on some bold eyeliner, dark lipstick and a black choker – and behold, crank that!

To achieve: Strategically shave slits into your eyebrows. Be careful to not shave off too much or panic might ensue. You have been warned.

Which trend would you like to try?

Have fun experimenting these new brow looks and don’t forget – you must never underestimate the power of the eyebrow. Go forth and be brow-tiful!
