Top 5 videos to watch this Merdeka 2014
This year, Merdeka have come forward on the Sunday (Monday holiday!) that truly inspired us that we as a Malaysian are living under one roof. We might have different culture, come from different race or even religion but what makes us the same is how we are "Malaysian". The little things we do that define who we are. And these videos will constantly remind us of today and how it changes our life as a nation and as an individual . Sometimes, we are not aware of the things we do in life that only a third person point of view could reflect on. Here are the five incredible video to watch this Merdeka 2014, Enjoy. They are not in any order.
Let's start with Maxis and Digi Merdeka video that I have wrote about previously on the similarity of their videos.
1) Maxis
The whole video was narrated by this "guai lou". It shows the whole journey of him living in Malaysia with people calling him as Brothers, Macha and Bang. Giving him the perception of everyone is family in Malaysia. Interesting video based on an outsider point of view.
2) Digi
Similar to Maxis, but this video involve a local India understanding the beauty of Malaysia, calling people bro, Macha, Aunty and Uncle. His mission is to find how many respond to him calling them as "family".
3) Petronas
We all know Petronas famous for their very valuable videos for each celebration in Malaysia and each video actually talks about unity and family that always catches the emotion of people. This video, Petronas demonstrate two kids, a Chinese and a Malay being close friends. Doing what kids do when they are young, bringing the feeling of togetherness. Ended with a quote" Reflect on yesterday. Live for today. Hope for tomorrow.
4) Elizabeth Tan
Oh my, her voice. How can we not love it? She seem to always make songs so lovely. This time, Elizabeth Tan have make a cover of our traditional "Tanggal 31" song that we used to sing in schools during Merdeka day.
5) TheMingThing
TheMingThing is always hilarious with their video, and this time to show that all of us are the same. He demonstrate a few things that normally any Malaysians will do. So if you are a Malaysian, you are probably doing one of these things at least.
That's all guys! Let's all remember this precious day that unite us all Malaysians together.
