Maxis and Digi released a similar Merdeka video?

As we all are aware that Merdeka is coming on the 31st of August 2014, which means public holiday on Monday! Don't we just love independent day?

So two days ago both of these telecommunication service corporation released a unity video in celebration of Merdeka 2014. What makes it interesting is that both seem to deliver the same message.

Check out Maxis video

With the tagline of  "It's okay, we are family" with a "guai lou" this time.

And here is DIGI's video.

"we are family" with a local describing his view around the city.

What we can concluded that we can see Maxis seem to be more commercialize than Digi's while Digi keep it more simple with the sense of being local. But overall, we know it derived with one message "unity". Maxis video consist of a Mat Salleh expose to the culture of Malaysia where everyone call each other "family" therefore even we  all come from different races, religion and even culture we unite as one. Therefore is an outsider point of view.

However for Digi, is just a sense of realization by a man that these little things that make us what we are now. By bringing a message that hey, Merdeka isn't just about the day where Malaysia get it's independent but how all the race united as one and living in this country in harmony. Let's see their social media respond.

digi respond maxis   digi maxis celcom

And Digi would like to invite Celcom too. (@Celcom: come join also! Then we can reenact this one… which is one of our all time favourites) Last but not least a really wonderful post by Digi

The picture kinda showing a man holding a ball and a teddy bear. It actually make unity more applicable. So yea it's great to see how these rival competitors just become Macha and bros to show the true meaning of Merdeka.

Anyway some self promoting here for you guys here who just received your salary (end of the month)

There are many Merdeka sale is happening now. Do check it out!

Enjoy shopping guys! It's the time of the year again!
